Agile Atlanta
President

The Agile-Atlanta President generally has the following duties:

  • Encourage volunteers to speak or get speakers and to sign up as meeting coordinators.
  • Ensure we have a topic planned for the month. If possible have something planned one or two months ahead.
  • Presides over the meeting before handing it over to the meeting coordinator. May want to guide discussions of job opportunities, job changes, and exciting agile activities (or troublesome non-agile activities) happening at local companies. Should mention what is in the works for future meetings.
  • Is in charge of door prizes.
  • Is often the 1st point of contact for speakers who wish to volunteer to speak.

Our current president is listed in the Wiki.

Meeting Coordinator

The meeting coordinator should ensure that the Wiki is updated before and after the meeting and send an email announcing the topic and meeting date and details to the yahoo group a few days before the meeting. The coordinator also introduces the speaker or presides over the bulk of the meeting.

Coordinators for future meetings are listed in the Wiki.
Additional volunteers are always needed.

Webmaster

The webmaster is responsible for ensuring that the website, the Wiki and the yahoo calendar are up to date. This does not mean that the webmaster does all the work. He or she is just responsible to see that it gets done. For example, note the responsibilities of the meeting coordinator.

Andrew Fuqua is a former Agile-Atlanta president and current webmaster. Though he admittedly has no skills at web-site design, he is uniquely qualified for the position since he has volunteered for it. If you would like to take over this responsibility, you could probably talk him into giving it up. Andrew can be contacted through the mailing list.

Facilities Coordinator

The facilities coordinator is minimally responsible for providing a projector for the meetings as well as a place for us to meet. He or she should ensure our members don't have too much trouble with parking, directions or access to the building or meeting room. There may be other duties depending on location. For example, some locations may need directional signs in the building pointing to the meeting location. Others may need badge access to the facilities, such as was needed at the old Sun Ed location.

Our current facilities coordinator is listed in the Wiki.

Sponsorship Dude / Treasurer

In the past, we've had meeting sponsors in which some company has reimbursed a speaker for expenses. The money always flowed directly from the sponsor to the speaker. We do not have a bank account, a treasurer or direct financial sponsorship. However, if someone wants to volunteer to be a Sponsorship focal point or Treasurer (and do all the work that entails), I see no reason to stop them.
